Speaking from personal experience, applying and being a part of FreshSight has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things I have done in my life. One crucial part of the application process is the interview. They can be truly daunting for some people, but as a member of the Management Team and one of the interviewers, here are my 5 top tips to help you smash it!

Be Yourself – It’s great when people walk in and show us some of their personality. We understand that a lot of answers are pre-researched, but when you’re conducting around 10-15 interviews in one day, it’s very easy to forget those who offer only the standard responses. Although it’s great to show that you’ve done some background research before you come, it’s nice to see who YOU are as a person. Tell us something unique about yourself, tell us something original.

Relax – It’s natural to be nervous for an interview, and we understand that. Remember, we’re students like you and we aren’t there to mark or put anyone down. We want to see the best of you, so take a deep breath and relax.

If we push you, we like you – One thing I did during the last bout of interviews would be to dig deeper into answers. If we do this, we’re interested in what you have to say and want to know more. If we didn’t think you were capable of answering the questions, we wouldn’t ask them.

Know our ethos – Our company’s ethos and core values are of utmost importance to us. We want our consultants to align with this, and what better way to demonstrate that you do than in the interview?

Keep your answers concise – We would love to spend a whole day getting to know all of you if we could, but unfortunately time constraints can be tight. In preparation, try to anticipate all of the questions we could ask, and practice what you would say back in the most efficient way. Rambling on wastes time and also doesn’t add any particular value to the answer. A really impressive candidate will be able to articulate the same information in half the time.

Best of luck!
